Wairarapa Diesel Service “WDS” was incorporated in 2001 by Brent and Jennifer Ward. After returning from WA where they had a very successful similar business, they decided to settle in the Wairarapa with their 3 Children.
Brent & Jen started operating from their garage in Charles St in Carterton, then moving to a workshop in Ngaumutawa Road Masterton until 2010 when 15 Edwin Feist place was purchased and the custom built 5 bay Heavy Machinery & Engineering workshop, also housing a large parts and Administration Office.
Over the last 18 years Brent & Jen have continually given back to the Industry & Wairarapa youth by always having apprentices, so Brent can offer his extensive knowledge & experience in the industry. Brent does this in a very relaxed manner and is an excellent mentor and boss to all his staff. Over the years WDS have put over 10 young men through their apprenticeships not including the 2 we currently have – One nearing his second year and another that has just signed up.
In 2017 81 Judds road was purchased which consists of a 4 bay workshop which gave more space for our expanding Truck & Trailer customers (mainly due to the flourishing Forestry industry)
After a year of this being up and running Brent decided to sell the Truck & Trailer portion of the business so he could concentrate on his passion and focus on Heavy Machinery, Hydraulics, and Diesel Engines side of the business out of 15 Edwin Feist Workshop.
With a loyal staff of mechanics, Engineers, Apprentices, Parts Guru and Office Manager we have a very special small team – which we are looking at increasing.
Although Brent is an actively “on the tools” boss and works long hours in all weather conditions and hours of day with our 24 hour service, he still knows how to balance his life – he has a passion for 4x4 driving in his “Fookin Buggy” in events all over the country .And also has an impressive collection of classic cars, and a mancave to be envied
